Nationwide Search Miss Teen Philippines

THE mentors of the relaunched Miss Teen Philippines (MTP), collectively called the Miss Teen Philippines Advisory Council, got together for an intimate confab with MTP organizers, sponsors, and a few media friends at New World Makati Hotel, official hotel partner of Miss Teen Philippines 2014.

Miss Teen Philippines is the premier nationwide search for a female youth role model who can inspire teens to get ahead in life through education. Miss Teen Philippines Ambassador Jasmine Curtis-Smith and co-mentors beauty queen and actress Ruffa Gutierrez; actress and blogger Laureen Uy; author, model, and radio and TV personality Bianca Valerio; hairstylist Jing Monis; and makeup artist Robbie Piñera expressed their excitement over being handpicked by the MTP organizers to inspire and mentor this year’s candidates. (Also part of the MTP Advisory Council, but not present during the event, is beauty queen and actress Precious Lara Quigaman.)

Top fashion blogger Uy wants to help the teens find their personal style. “Dressing up is a big part of your everyday life, and you have to find your personal style so you can exude confidence in what you’re wearing,” she says.

Miss Teen Philippines has tied up with Punongbayan & Araullo to ensure credible pageant results. The winner of Miss Teen Philippines 2014 will receive a prize package with an estimated value of P2.6 million, but more importantly, she will become the Department of Education’s Ambassadress for Education and will serve to inspire and actively engage the youth to value education while promoting the various DepEd youth-directed priority programs. The winner will also become a member of the Philippine Delegation to the Southeast Asian Youth Program and to the National Youth Parliament and will undergo the same training and preparation as the other members of the national team prior to their international travel.
